Have you ever dreamt of starting your own school? In this inspiring episode of Kingdom Educators, Dalena Wallace shares her journey as a homeschool mom and the founder of AIM Educational Collaborative, where she empowers homeschool parents and Christian educators to launch innovative learning environments like micro-schools, hybrid schools, and virtual schools. She believes God is calling educators to create faith-centered alternatives to traditional education and emphasizes the role of local churches in supporting these initiatives.
Through her organization, AIM Educational Collaborative, and HERO, (Heartland Education Reformation Organization), Dalena Wallace connects and equips Christian school founders with essential resources. Dalena discusses her upcoming documentary, The Hero Film, which highlights the inspiring journeys of Christian school founders. Additionally, her project includes a scholarship initiative, aiming to help students access these schools with the support of local churches. Dalena emphasizes the vital role local churches can take in supporting these schools through partnerships and funding, viewing them as an extension of their mission efforts. She states, "We want the body of Christ to recognize that they do have a part in this. In a lot of churches, they're missing an opportunity to see this as missions."

Feeling too stressed to teach? When student behavior feels overwhelming and nothing seems to be working, it’s easy to feel discouraged. But sometimes, the biggest shift isn’t in your classroom—it’s in how you see it.
In this episode Jesica Glover speaks with Trish Zenczak, a high school teacher and mentor, about supporting trauma-impacted students with a kingdom perspective. Drawing from her own experiences in the foster care system and 15 years in education, Trish emphasizes the importance of seeing challenging behaviors as a cry for connection rather than mere attention-seeking. She encourages teachers to respond with empathy, patience, and an awareness of students' deeper needs for belonging and security.
To better support trauma-impacted students, Trish offers these key strategies:
Reinforce Classroom Structure: Help students understand their role and purpose within the classroom to create a sense of stability.
Equip Students with Coping Tools: Provide practical strategies to manage emotions and navigate challenges.
Prioritize Connection Over Control: Build relationships that make students feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Empower Student Identities: Focus on strengthening students' confidence and voice rather than unpacking their trauma stories in the classroom.
Rooted in biblical principles, this conversation provides Christian educators with practical guidance on creating classrooms that foster healing, growth, and transformation. William Ponder never set out to write a book, but when God called he said, "Yes!" In this week's podcast we learn about a high school (and beyond!) resource that will facilitate incredible conversations with your students about their potential and their futures. "Ponder the Possibilities" is an easy read, kosher for public high schools with 6 keys that invite students to dream of what's possible in and through their lives. Will's book invites readers on a journey of pondering where students are challenges to think beyond immediate self-gratification, or even people pleasing-- to honestly evaluate mental blocks, step out of "stuck mode," consider how their gifts/talents/skills/abilities could impact the word, and then beckons them to dream from a higher perspective while also considering what practical steps can be taken to get there. Great for classroom use or individual reflection.
If you teach high schoolers, ever dreamt of doing something out of the box with God, or just need some "teacher on mission" encouragement-- this episode will fill your cup! Purchase a copy of Ponder the Possibilities or reach out to William Ponder about speaking or email him HERE.

We're launching into a podcast series of "Empowering Partners" and Joel Penton, founder and director of LifeWise, joins us this week as our first guest who shares how bible education can change students' lives!
LifeWise empowers local community members who are interested in sharing the gospel with public school students by providing a "plug and play" system for organizing and setting up a program (including curriculum that has real results!) that utilizes the Supreme Court mandated "release time" for religious studies to public school students (Watch this: During School Hours to learn more). He describes the legalities of the release time, steps community members (including teachers!) can take to begin bringing LifeWise to their area, and how to launch and remain connected to their very organized structured to ensure success on every level. I know you'll love hearing the testimonies he shares from the LifeWise Program as well.

Congratulations to my friends who have launched the very first LifeWise in Washington State becoming the 31st state to launch LifeWise since 2019!

This episode is a LIVE recording from the Hagerstown, MD Teacher LIFT Dinner hosted by Christian Educators on 2/2/25 where Jesica Glover invites listeners to consider 3 truths that help us follow and 2 lies that can hinder as the Good Shepherd invites us to partner with Him. Her message finds it's home in John 10:1-5 where we as the sheep know our Good Shepherd's voice, He calls us by name, and He leads us out. Filled with laughter and heart, this episode includes applicable stories from Jesica's teaching career in which the Good Shepherd was inviting her to hear, step into her identity as a Kingdom Educator, and follow Jesus into "uncharted territory."

As we wrap up our series on healthy boundaries, Jesus summarizes the keys brought up by several of our special guests and then invites us into recognizing our heart's posture in allowing Jesus to have our complete devotion through a NEW BOUNDARY. She dives into, what she coins, "My YES to Jesus" that allows us to exchange our tendency to solve our own problems, be our own "source," etc... for allowing Jesus to be our LIGHT and LIFE (see John 1:3-5, 9). This exchange requires we acknowledge and let Him be our fountain, our source, of ALL that we have need of both in our lives at school and at home. Lastly Jesica challenges us to stay in constant communion throughout the day with Jesus-- seeing Him WITH us-- and to "Call to me for I will tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3) knowing He will be faithful to provide what we need in a moments notice. God will upgrade us as we lean into this healthy release of YES to Him alone, our best friend, co-curriculum creator, King, etc...

We're back this week with Elizabeth Schmus to round out our conversation of intentionally building rest into the margins of our week as Kingdom Educators. Elizabeth is a big fan and wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding space to give ourselves grace in ALL we do in and outside of school. In this episode, we discuss creating simple systems that alleviate stress-- offloading tasks to others, utilizing the daily task "bucket" approach to avoid overwhelm, and rewarding ourselves for doing hard things!
If you've found these Boundaries episodes useful by applying them to your own life-- wether in or outside the classroom, please let us know! We love to hear how our content is helping you to find more joy, rest, and purpose in your mission as a Kingdom Educator.

We can all struggle at times with feeling the tug to work too much... even to the point of allowing ourselves to rest only as a reward for "finishing," but we're reminded that's not a habit God designed us to have. One of the spiritual Mamas of the Christian Educators movement, Elizabeth Schmus, shares with us her own journey of finding rest in "work" by instilling the practice of Sabbath and holding tight to her weekly time in the Word of God. The Lord is inviting us to commune with Him through rest-- resting on the truth of His Word not only by helping us hold onto promises during trials, but in more peaceful seasons as well.
Making a Sabbath rest part of our weekly routine can literally revolutionize the way we prepare our hearts and minds to live on mission with Jesus. In the space of rest we're able to reset with Father God in the unique ways He made us-- through play, physically resting, being alone, creating, or gathering with friends and family. The God of the Sabbath is inviting us to join Him in resting from our work one whole day a week. Thank you for joining us for a continued conversation about setting boundaries that help us maintain a healthy heart and mind... and maybe even a healthy body, as I know rest for some is physical activity!

It doesn't broach public conversation often, but we as Christian educators know there are some fine lines for following the law, while also living within our faith convictions in our classrooms. During this episode high school teacher Rhapsody Jordan-Parisi dives into how she has thought through her clear "yes" and "no" when it comes to dealing with gender confusion. Her #1 goals are to honor God and others, and speak the truth in love. She aims to follow the voice of the Holy Spirit daily and has found that keeping close to His heart has never steered her wrong when it comes to her faith boundaries at school.
We hope you enjoy this episode as it goes a little deeper than some by identifying sticky areas we may all face when it comes to identifying a need for boundaries and also taking action to care for ourselves and others by putting them in place. We pray you walk away feeling inspired and emboldened in setting healthy boundaries in your personal and professional life after listening to Rhapsody's story.
