46. Don't Wait to Let it Shine! w/Heather Kohnen

45. Be Lifted Up Christian Educators! w/Mike Hicks

Our students need us to wake up and be lifted up! Mike Hicks from Christian Educators shares his testimony of how God led him to begin gathering the Christian teachers at his school and then his city! God amazed him. And the dream didn't stop there! Mike's step of obedience has begun a movement of Lift America gatherings across the nation creating family for Christian teachers across the nation. Connecting with one another is the first step... and realizing we are not alone causes us to be encouraged. And then the next step is being inspired with renewed passion to be cultural catalysts in our schools!

44. Roots of Apathy w/Mike Hicks

Whether you work in a difficult neighborhood or a well-to-do area you will find encouragement and practical strategies from Mike Hicks, now retired teacher who works for Christian Educators International. In his year 30+ years in public education Mike Hicks has learned many things, but the Holy Spirit has led him to his biggest breakthroughs when its come to reaching students struggling with apathy. Through a series of events in his life, shared in this testimonial episode, Mike compiled a book for teachers entitled "The Roots of Apathy" which shares how to validate many of the incredibly hard struggles our students face as well as making deposits of relational equity in the ones God has put in front of us each day.

43. Responding to the Nudges of God at School w/Clint Daniels

Clint Daniels stepped into a new level of relationship with God after a bought with depression and as a teacher this meant tuning into God's voice a bit more for his school! First it started with using his talents and abilities with launching The Teacher Devotional Blog and then it turned into connecting with the other Christian teachers at his middle school. Clint also shares how God nudged him to pray for a student who needed to have someone call out the leadership "gold" in his life! Clint's testimonies will encourage you to dream with God about what's possible as you teach connected in this New Year!!

42. Take Your Rightful Seat At The Table

October '23 Jesica Glover was the keynote speaker at the Wichita Area Teacher Prayer Breakfast and spoke about our upgrade to teach in connection with God. She shares through different testimonies the power of living from the truth of God's calling on our life as Teacher Missionaries, inviting friend Holy Spirit to download Kingdom strategies to all the challenging scenarios we face (our Kingdom Advantage), and engaging with our rightful approach as "already having won because Christ has won over sin, sickness, and the grave!" Therefore our rightful seat at the table is truly one of being on the offense because we are victorious as we sit with Christ above all powers and principalities (see Ephesians 1).
 
Listen to be supercharged with encouragement, challenged to arise in your true identity, and to operate from a place of victory instead of being overcome by all that you face. You were meant to be a light, carrying a connection to heaven's unlimited resources and wisdom because you carry Jesus the overcoming one within you. God is your real boss and all the other lists, mandates, earthly wisdom must bow... even fear of man. It's the hour to rise up and take your rightful seat at the table of victory.

Sometimes we plan our own way, but God does truly order our steps (Prov 16:9)! This was the case for Felita Kahrs, former teacher, administrator and lobbyist in education. In this episode Felita shares how the Lord drew her back to Himself and began to speak to her about her role as a Teacher on Mission. She began to respond to His call to be salt and light... and things started shifting for her students and colleagues as she took on this key role.

38. His Ways Are Higher Testimonial w/Social Worker Kylea Raines

Kylea Raines hasn't had a traditional teaching path, and she hasn't always tuned into God's direction, but He's guided her and made His Higher Ways known! In this episode Kylea candidly shares with teachers that tuning into God's voice, praying, and being sure to stay connected to the Vine and filled up is the best way we can prepare to serve our students. It's in the hardest seasons, she says, that prayer is the sustenance we need to be filled up for giving away what our students need each day. I couldn't agree more! As we teach-connected with God in our classrooms and team with God in our personal lives it's all about communing with Him in conversation through prayer and His Word. He is our sustainer and our great supply. Just as the scriptures say in Psalm 87:7 all our fountains truly are found in Him! We need God to have vision, purpose, and supply all we need to speak His heart and act out of His higher ways each day. We also need to be receiving His love for us daily to be effective in our strategic positions.

37. Testimony of Unseen Hope w/Former Student Jason Luna

Raise your hand if you've ever had a student who you weren't quite sure whether or not you'd reached them? Our goal as Christian Teachers is always to leave a significant impact for the Kingdom.... but sometimes it's hard to tell whether any of our prayers, words of encouragement, acts of kindness, or even our consistency has mattered. Listen to this testimony from Jacob Luna, former gang member and drug addict who was touched by a teacher who followed the voice of God in her classroom. She didn't know her prayers or her obedience to God's voice had made a difference until years later.
 
 
 
Know that even if you never hear back from the majority of your students that the seeds of your faithfulness to pray, speak words of life, and be a consistent loving presence in your students lives is making a difference.
